A long time ago, cars were very different from the ones we see today. In the early days, around the late 1800s, cars were made by hand and often looked quite strange compared to modern vehicles. They didn’t have fancy features like air conditioning or electric windows. Instead, they had big, noisy engines and were powered by steam or early versions of gasoline.

One of the first cars was made by a man named Karl Benz in 1886. His car was called the Benz Patent-Motorwagen, and it only had three wheels. It was quite slow and could only go about 10 miles per hour. People thought cars were unusual and only a few could afford them.

Over time, cars got better and more affordable. In the 1920s, Henry Ford made a big change by using an assembly line to build cars faster and cheaper. This made it possible for more people to own a car and travel long distances more easily.

So, cars in the olden days were pretty different from today’s models. They started off as rare and expensive inventions but gradually became a common part of everyday life.
